Rajasthan Royals will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad on Friday (May 27). Commenting on the all-important fixture, Daniel Vettori said Sanju Samson knows only one style of batting, and he should be sticking to it.
The Royals' middle order depended a lot on skipper Samson, who played an aggressive role in the middle overs. He can take the game away from the opponent in a couple of overs.
"I believe Samson only continues to play one way, which is great to watch. I keep hoping he can bat deep, but I doubt he could indeed change his approach or tempo in such a crucial match. Who understands, if he hits the ball for a long time, he might produce a match-winning performance," Vettori cited.
The New Zealand legend further stated, that Bangalore have the luxury of seven bowling options, and the RR batters should start hitting from the start to minimise taking risk against Harshal Patel.
Former RCB skipper Daniel Vettori also commented on the inaugural champions' bowling by calling their death bowling out.
"Rajasthan's death bowling is the main concern for them, and they don't have death bowling specialists. If they bat first, they'll need a big score up front," he said.
Earlier this week, the Sanju Samson-led unit lost a close Qualifier 1 in the final overs, where David Miller tonked Prasidh Krishna for three consecutive sixes to seal the game. Krishna and his compatriots will look not to repeat the mistake when they face RCB at Motera tonight.
