In a blockbuster match, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a great win over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to qualify for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs.

Despite the intense pressure resembling a playoff knockout game, RCB remained composed and outplayed MS Dhoni's CSK to claim the win and playoff berth.

Dinesh Karthik, the wicketkeeper of RCB, highlighted an interesting observation during their win against CSK.

"The best thing that happened today was Dhoni hitting the ball outside the ground, then we got a new ball and it was better to bowl as well" - Karthik said in a video posted by RCB.

As the match reached its climax, MS Dhoni launched a fierce onslaught against RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. In the decisive final over, CSK required 17 runs to snatch victory, with Yash Dayal bowling the final over.

Yash Dayal had a bad memory of defending 29 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2023 when he was playing for Gujarat Titans (GT). Rinku Singh smashed Dayal and won the game for KKR back then.

Yash Dayal had to go through a bad phase after that game. He was released by GT and picked by RCB this season. It was Yash Dayal who was picked by Faf to bowl against MS Dhoni in the last over of the crucial game.

Due to the rain, the ball was damp, posing a challenge for Dayal. His first delivery of the last over slipped from his grip, resulting in a full toss that Dhoni capitalized on, smashing a monstrous 110-meter six.

With the wet ball replaced by a dry one, Dayal adjusted his strategy for the next delivery. This time, he opted for a slower ball, catching Dhoni off guard.

Dhoni mistimed his shot, resulting in a miss-hit and ultimately giving away his wicket and Yash Dayal had his redemption
