Hardik Pandya Lands In Trouble; BCCI Punishes MI Skipper With Heavy Fine

In the IPL game against Punjab Kings (PBKS), Mumbai Indians' captain, Hardik Pandya, was fined ₹12 lakh. The reason? Mumbai Indians were too slow in maintaining over-rate while defending the target of 193 . This breach of the IPL code of conduct led to the penalty to the captain.

In a game where luck seemed to sway both ways, the Mumbai Indians emerged victorious against PBKS, clinching the win by a margin of 9 runs. Despite posting a competitive total of 192-7, thanks in large part to Suryakumar Yadav's exceptional fifty, Mumbai's victory was hard-fought.

Gerald Coetzee and Jasprit Bumrah's strong start in the game quickly knocked out Punjab's top order batters, leaving them in a tough spot at just 14 runs for 4 wickets. They were on the edge of a big loss at a stage where Punjab's young prodigies of this season Shashank and Ashutosh came to crease.

Shashank and Ashutosh instilled fear in Hardik and MI

Shashank started the counter attack first. After Shashank got out, Punjab score was 111-7. From that stage Ashutosh Sharma single-handedly took PBKS closer to target with strong support of Brar.

At one point, Punjab needed 28 runs from 24 balls, with Ashutosh at the crease. Mumbai Indians slowed things down by taking their time to set up their field positions. There were long discussions between Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma, which ate up some time.

In the last two overs, Mumbai had only four fielders outside the circle instead of the usual five, but despite this, the Mumbai bowlers kept their cool and secured the win for the team.
