Chennai Super Kings CEO, Kasi Viswanathan is worried ahead of the start of the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League. According to him, the United Arab Emirates increasing the flight ban from India even in July is making it difficult for the IPL team administrators to fly to the gulf nation and make necessary arrangements.
“Finding hotels won’t be a problem. But flight ban is definitely a problem, it delays our plans” Viswanathan was quoted as saying to Insidesport. “As far as the hotel is concerned, we are already in talks. Whenever BCCI confirms the dates, we will finalise the bookings,” he added.
On the other hand, a Kings Punjab officially also confirmed that the problem of price negotiation would arise if the moves are not made early by BCCI as the Dubai Expo also takes place at the same time as the IPL.
“We still don’t have any official intimation as yet from the BCCI. Unless we get an official note from BCCI, I cannot comment. Whatever we have heard, it is through the media. We are in a state of preparedness,” the administrator said on the account anonymity.
“Everything is being checked, hotels are being finalised, grounds have been finalised for practice. All of that is done. We are prepared. As soon we get an official confirmation, we will make our move,” he added.
BCCI has already confirmed that the IPL would take place between September 19 and October 15.
