In what could have been a ‘do or die’ match for the defending champion Mumbai Indians, Jimmy Neesham bowled a magnificent spell to restrict their opponents Rajasthan Royals to a meagre total of 90 runs. Neesham felt that he was making his debut again when he bowled the ferocious spell against Rajasthan.
In a video posted by the official Twitter handle of the Indian Premier League, Neesham had a word with his bowling partner and man of the match Nathan Coulter-Nile. "Yeah, look obviously, the tournament has been weird, I felt like I was debuting again after the break. Coming out and giving a performance like this when we needed to win two from two was very pleasing. Hopefully, it falls our way and sneaks into the playoffs,” said Neesham.
Neesham conceded only 12 runs in his four-over spell and took 3 wickets. He and Coulter-Nile together took 7 wickets in total in 8 overs by conceding just 26 runs. Coulter-Nile bagged his career best figure in the IPL ( 4/14).
Mumbai Indians chased this target in 8.2 overs while Ishan Kishan wrapped the game up by making a quick 50. Mumbai is yet to qualify for the playoffs as KKR are ahead of them in terms of NRR.
