ENG-W vs SA-W | England Women’s squad for South Africa ODIs announced


England Women have announced a 14-player squad for their upcoming home ODI series against South Africa Women. Heather Knight is set to resume her leadership role in the series, while Issy Wong and Lauren Bell have earned their maiden ODI call-ups.


A look at England Women's 14-player squad: Heather Knight (c), Tammy Beaumont, Lauren Bell, Katherine Brunt, Kate Cross, Alice Davidson-Richards, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Amy Jones, Emma Lamb, Nat Sciver, Issy Wong and Danni Wyatt.


While speaking on ecb.co.uk, England head coach Lisa Keightley said: "Although these South Africa ODIs don't form part of the ICC Women's Championship, we are at the beginning of a new three-year cycle, which is so exciting. We have to keep looking forward and trying to improve as a team, and we were so delighted with the energy and skill that the four debutants brought in the LV= Insurance Test match."



England Cricket have also announced their England Women A squad for a T20 warm-up game (July 4) and 50-overs warm-up game against the visitors on Thursday, July 7.


England Women A squad: Bryony Smith (c), Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Kira Chathli, Freya Davies, Dani Gibson, Bess Heath, Marie Kelly, Freya Kemp, Linsey Smith, Mady Villiers. Travelling reserve: Grace Potts.


South Africa women's tour of England 2022 updates


The South African women's tour of England began with a one-off Test at Taunton. The match, played between June 27 and June 30, ended in a draw after hosts England had taken a commanding first-innings lead.


The tour will continue with a three-match ODI series, starting July 11. The first of the three matches will be played at Northampton's County Cricket Ground, while the next two will be played at Bristol and Leicester. The ODIs will be followed by three T20I matches between July 21 and 25.
