ENG vs NZ | Trent Boult becomes the highest run-scorer at number 11 in Test Cricket

The left-arm fast bowler Trent Boult has etched his name into his history books by achieving a unique record in the ongoing 2nd Test match between England and New Zealand at Nottingham.

Boult has become the highest run-scorer at number 11 in the red-ball format, with 640 runs in 79 innings.

The next on this coveted list are Muttiah Muralitharan, James Anderson, Glenn McGrath, and Courtney Walsh.

Here are their numbers:

623 - Muttiah Muralitharan in 98 innings

609 - James Anderson in 164 innings

603 - Glenn McGrath in 128 innings

553 - Courtney Walsh in 122 innings

Boult is also the fourth highest wicket-taker for the Kiwi team in the longest format, with 311 wickets at 27.22.

In the first innings, the 32-year-old pacer remained unbeaten on 16 off 18 balls and followed it up by scoring 17 off 15 in the second innings. He achieved this feat during a 35-run stand with Daryl Mitchell.

After his dismissal, the Kiwi team managed to set a target of 299 runs for the home team.

The left-arm pacer also picked the first wicket in the form of England opener Zak Crawley and will look to continue the same momentum to win the match for the team.
