ENG vs IND | If we can win this particular Test, I think it will probably be one of the best victories: Pujara

Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara believes that team India need to regroup before the fifth Test against England starting July 1 at Edgbaston.

India toured England last year for a five-match Test series; however, due to the COVID-19, the final Test of the series was postponed when the Indian team were leading the series 2-1. The postponed game will now be played at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.

Speaking before the start of the series, Pujara said it's important for the side to regroup as they'll be playing in England after a gap of almost a year.

"It is after a long time. So we just need to regroup. We just need to understand our strengths. The good part for us is we are here early. So there is plenty of time to prepare for all the players. I think the most important thing is we have a good bunch of players. We have quality fast bowlers," Pujara said in an interview with the BCCI.

The Indian number three is also hopeful that the way his teammates played the first four Tests last year, they'll be eager to do the same thing again to help the team win the final Test.

"So the way the guys did in the last four matches here, I am sure they are eager to do the same thing again. If we can win this particular Test and win this series on English soil, I think it will probably be one of the best victories for India. All of us are looking forward to this Test match."

Even after being 2-1 up in the series, Pujara highlighted the importance of the fifth and final Test, which will be a decider.

"I think it's a good challenge for us, yes, we are 2-1 ahead in the series, but at the same time, this is the most important Test match of the series. And yeah, if we play to our potential, if we stick to our strengths, understand what we need as a team and what has given us success in those four Test matches which we played here, we just need to repeat those things," he concluded.

The right-handed top-order batter had a forgettable outing in the practice match between India and Leicestershire as he was bowled for a six-ball duck by Mohammed Shami in the first innings, then the next time he was stumped off the bowling of R. Sai Kishore for 22 off 53 deliveries.
