Jitesh Sharma has earned his name as a finisher after his IPL 2025 heroics for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. From a name who was known by none, Jitesh quickly gained attention because of his finishing heroics, especially in the 70th IPL clash against LSG, where he played a match-winning knock of 33-ball 85.

Undoubtedly, this has earned him a spot in India's Asia Cup T20 2025 squad, but doubt remains whether he will find a place in the Playing XI or not. Surprisingly, England's explosive wicketkeeper batter and Jitesh's RCB teammate Phil Salt have shown faith in Sharma's capability on social media.

Salt Shows Faith On Jitesh

Just a few hours ago, ahead of India's tournament opener in Dubai for the Asia Cup, Jitesh Sharma posted multiple pictures of him posing in the Indian jersey, with a picture also featuring him praying with folded hands. The pictures gained 282K likes within a couple of hours and a special comment from Phil Salt.

Phil Salt, who was roped in by RCB in the IPL 2025 mega auction, has been the teammate of Jitesh Sharma this year, and the English wicketkeeper batter was seen commenting on Sharma's post, "Don’t worry guys ❤️."

While the comment was cryptic, fans speculated that Salt has a strong belief in Jitesh that he would make it to the playing XI against UAE. While Sanju Samson is also in contention for the wicketkeeper batter spot, some reports indicate Jitesh might have the upper hand ahead of Sanju Samson for September 10.

Nevertheless, Jitesh was also seen practising intensely in the nets after India landed in Dubai on September 4. Hence, it shouldn't be surprising if Jitesh gets a nod for the UAE clash and pip Samson for the spot.
