The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been advised by its Tours and Fixtures Committee to contract the upcoming home series against West Indies in just two venues as opposed to the original plan of it being played across six venues.
According to the committee, the three-match T20I series and the three-match ODI series can be divided between Ahmedabad and Kolkata. The fixtures are yet to be finalised.
Earlier it was scheduled that the series would begin from February 6 and go on till February 20, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Cuttack, Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram.
The West Indies don’t have any issues with the change in venues given that the decision is fuelled by nothing else but the operational constraints due to Covid-19.
