Day 2 of the fixture between Glamorgan and Leicestershire ended as an even contest between both the teams, as the former were trailing by only 15 runs.
Glamorgan began the day on 285/8, with captain Callum Parkison and Chris Wright at the crease. The duo hit a couple of boundaries, which sailed the team to a 300-run mark.
However, the duo perished with 11 overs into the morning session. As a result, the team was dismissed for a total of 320. Marnus Labuschagne was the pick of the bowlers with three scalps.
The home team had a bad start with a wicket in the first over in reply. The pacer, Wright, bowled a peach of a delivery, which induced an edge off David Lloyd and was caught brilliantly by wicket-keeper Harry Swindells.
Then, Labuschagne and the opener Andrew Salt with their composure to steer the team. However, the Aussie batter could not clear the boundary on the brink of the lunch session and was caught at the fine-leg position off Ben Mike.
In the 2nd over after the lunch session, Wright caught the edge of Salter, who scored 26 off 61 balls, comprising six fours.
After this wicket, it was undoubtedly a one-sided affair, as Sam Northeast and Kiran Carlson were impressive with their stroke-play all around the park.
Although the duo started cautiously, they accelerated and emphatically punished the bowlers. It was another beautiful representation of seam bowling by Wright, which caught Carlson off-guard, and he was adjudged LBW for a score of 91, with 14 fours.
Around 10 overs later, Northeast was dismissed in the same fashion as off Carlson, by Mike for a score of 84, comprising 13 fours.
At the end of the day, Chris Cooke and Andy Gorvin are at the crease with 22* and 23* respectively, with Glamorgan at 305/5 and trailing by 15 runs.
