The Division Two of the ongoing County Championship resumed with two matches on Monday, July 25.

Worcestershire vs Derbyshire

Worcestershire’s Dillon Pennington blew away the Derbyshire batters for just 130 with an incredible four-fer. For the visitors, Anuj Dal served as the lone half-centurion of the innings through his crafty 55.

By stumps, hosts Worcestershire had taken an 11-run lead, riding on Kashif Ali’s aggressive 74-ball 52. Ed Barnard and keeper-batter Gareth Roderick will resume their side’s innings from 141-5 on Day 2.

Durham vs Middlesex

Host Durham spent the entire rain-shortened opening day without losing a wicket, reaching 132 in 44.5 overs. 

Opener Michael Alexander Jones (78*) is nearing a hundred, and his partner Alex Lees is closing in on his half-century. The duo will resume Durham’s first innings on Day 2.
