Essex vs Somerset
Nick Browne’s unbeaten double ton engineered Essex’ total past the 500-run mark. The hosts batted out 163 overs before captain Tom Westley called for a declaration.
In response, Somerset reached 99-1 with opener Matt Renshaw and captain Tom Abell unbeaten at the crease.

Gloucestershire vs Northamptonshire
Northamptonshire took a lead of 36 runs by the end of Day 2. Captain Will Young, Ryan Rickelton and Luke Procter charted crafty half-centuries as the visitors batted out the day to reach 353-7.
Gloucestershire all-rounder Zafar Gohar made headlines with the ball as he took four wickets from his 31 overs.

Lancashire vs Kent
Hosts Lancashire batted another 11 first-innings overs on Day 2 as they were folded out for just 145. Kent’s Matt Henry claimed a five-fer while Indian import Navdeep Saini collected three wickets.
In response, Kent piled up 270 to gain a 125-run lead, with Joe Denly, Jack Leaning and Grant Stewart cracking half-centuries. Lancashire’s speedster Tom Bailey made inroads with the ball through his 6-64, and was ably assisted by Will Williams with his three-fer.

Surrey vs Warwickshire
Warwickshire added just 13 runs to their overnight first-innings total, as three-fers from Tom Lawes and Conor McKerr bundled them out for 253.
Nathan McAndrew, who top-scored with 44 for the visitors, later showed his dexterity with the ball by dismissing three Surrey batsmen.
By stumps on Day 2, hosts Surrey managed a 63-run first-innings lead before Warwickshire survived the remaining two overs of the day.

Yorkshire vs Hampshire
Yorkshire’s first innings came to a conclusion within the opening minutes of Day 2, adding just a run to their overnight total. Despite a modest score, two of their batters, Will Fraine and Dominic Bess, recorded sparkling half-centuries in an innings which saw extras as the next biggest contributor.
Hampshire’s Kyle Abbott took a six-fer in just 12.1 overs and his side later ended their innings with a 59-run first-innings lead.
Yorkshire lost opener George Hill while facing the remaining 13 overs of the day where they managed to wipe 23 runs from their deficit.
