The 2022 County Championship continued on Friday, July 22, with the final day of five Division One fixtures.

Warwickshire vs Kent


Kent, powered by pacer Matt Milnes' four-wicket haul, shot out Warwickshire for just 147 on Day 4. 


None of the hosts' batters managed to cross the 50-run mark as they fell short of the target by 177 runs.


Matthew Quinn and Indian speedster Navdeep Saini also picked two wickets each.

Surrey vs Essex


It took Surrey less than 20 overs on the final day to reach their target. 


With his 40-run knock, Captain Rory Burns was the top-scorer for the hosts, while Tom Lawes, with his unbeaten 32, guided them to the finish line against Essex.

Northamptonshire vs Lancashire


Lancashire minted the 86 additional runs they required within 31 overs on Day 4. 


Josh Bohannon, who was nearing his century at stumps on Day 3, reached the triple-figures early on the final day. 


Will Williams and Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar guarded the fort after Bohannon's dismissal to see Lancashire past their target.

Gloucestershire vs Hampshire


Gloucestershire extended their overnight total to 337 on the back of Miles Hammond's 169 and Ryan Higgins' 63. 


On being asked to follow on, they set a paltry 82-run target for the visiting Hampshire.


In response, the Hampshire batters overhauled the run-chase within the first ten overs. Their win placed them in the second spot in the Division One standings, just behind Surrey.
