The invincible Australian side will have an eye on their next target as they look to clinch the Gold medal at Commonwealth Games 2022.
However, the team has suffered an early setback after clouds of uncertainty surrounding Ellyse Perry's inclusion in the squad for the tournament.
Back injury might force Perry out from the plans
Perry, who has been on the sidelines due to a back injury for a while, was expected to make a comeback in the competition.
But according to the latest reports, Perry is set for an extended period on the sidelines because of the injury.
Australia will hope to have her back in some capacity, as an all-rounder of her calibre can single-handedly change the contest's outcome.
Australian coach speaks on Perry's importance to the team
Shelley Nitschke, who recently took over as the coach for the Australian national side, spoke to the media about Perry's contribution to the team.
"She's well-placed, playing well but unfortunately for her not having that bowling skill. She's certainly in the mix with her batting."
"These games are very important for us to get back into playing cricket and T20 mode as well when we're coming off a heavy ODI schedule," Shelley concluded.
