Comilla Victorians Retain Naseem Shah for Bangladesh Premier League 2024

In the latest turn of events, Comilla Victorians have extended their contract with Pakistan's Naseem Shah for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) edition. 

The player's draft for the upcoming season of BPL is set to be held on September 24 with the tournament set to be held in the first week of January next year after the Bangladesh national elections. 

The 20-year old had a good time with Comilla Victorians in the 2023 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League, where he picked up seven wickets in four games at an economy rate of 4.86, including two three-wicket hauls. 

Meanwhile, Naseem Shah has ruled out of the 50-over World Cup in India due to a shoulder injury that occurred on September 11th during Pakistan's Asia Cup match against India. 

Upon assessing the injury, it was concluded that Naseem Shah will have to undergo surgery and a subsequent period of recuperation. 

Unfortunately, this led to his omission from the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup squad, which was unveiled on September 22nd, 2023.

Hasan Ali has replaced him in the squad, and the chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq has thrown his weight behind Hasan Ali to step up to the occasion and fill the shoes of Naseem Shah.
