The India T20I skipper, Suryakumar Yadav has made it official that Sanju Samson will open Vs Bangladesh in the upcoming series, starting from Sunday. As per PTI, Samson will open alongside SRH's explosive batter, Abhishek Sharma.

Samson, normally plays at number 3 for his IPL franchise, Rajasthan Royals, but he also has previous experience of opening in T20s. For India, Samson has opened 5 times, and has a decent record. The Kerala batter has accumulated 105 runs, at a strike-rate of 160, with the best score of 77.

With no Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal in the side, India only have Abhishek as the only designated opener, and the absence of two key players provides Samson a perfect chance to stamp his authority against a quality Bangladesh attack.

In 26 T20Is for India, Samson has slammed 444 runs, at a strike-rate of 131.36, including 2 fifties. India will hope that the Rajasthan skipper repays the reward by scoring truckloads of runs.

India eye third series win in a row!

After the T20 World Cup triumph, this will be India's third T20I series. They won against Zimbabwe in a one-sided battle, and followed it up with a convincing win against home team, Sri Lanka, a couple of months ago.

The selectors picked a young squad, including first-timer, Mayank Yadav in the side. Also, Varun Chakravarthy returns to the side after a lengthy hiatus. The core of the last series remains the same as India eye another series win, this time against Bangladesh team.

The first T20I of the series will be played in Gwalior, followed by the second game in Delhi, and the final T20I in Hyderabad on October 12.
