The IPL 2021 auctions are around the corner. The franchises have released the lists of players whom they have retained or let off. The Virat Kohl-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) released quite a number of players including Chris Morris and Umesh Yadav. Here’s a list of bowlers who can fetch big money in the upcoming mini auctions.
Chris Morris
The South African all-rounder who was released by the RCB franchise earlier might fetch some big money when he goes under the hammer. He has played a total of 70 matches in the IPL picking up 80 wickets at an average of 23.98 and an economy rate of 7.81. Apart from this, Morris has been pretty handy with the bat too. He has so far scored 551 runs in 70 appearances at a strike-rate of over 150.
He last represented RCB in the 2020 edition of the IPL where he scalped 11 wickets in 9 matches for the side.
Umesh Yadav
RCB released another pacer, Umesh Yadav, ahead of the mini auctions. Yadav has been a part of RCB, Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders so far. The right-arm pace bowler might get some big amount of money when his name comes up for the auction riding on the kind of experience he has in international cricket and at the IPL level.
Talking about his IPL career, Umesh has played 121 matches and bagged 119 wickets so far. He played only two matches in the last season for RCB but failed to pick any wickets.
Interestingly, Yadav unfollowed RCB on Instagram, post his release and followed CSK on the social media portal.
Mujeeb ur Rahman
The Afghanistan player was released by Kings XI Punjab ahead of the auctions. He has played 18 IPL matches so far and has 17 wickets under his belt. While the off-spinner only played a couple of matches in the last season for KXIP but he can still fetch some big amount of money in the mini auctions because of his vast experience in the T20 format. In 132 T20 matches that Mujeeb has played, he has picked up 145 wickets at a healthy economy of 6.64.
Being a part of the BBL 2021, Mujeeb had 14 scalps from 8 matches to his name for Brisbane Heat.
Riley Meredith
Riley Meredith, who is a part of Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL 2021 has had a decent tournament so far. He has bagged 16 wickets in 13 matches and has troubled every top order batsman with express pace. Meredith's claim to fame is his consistency in delivering hard lengths against the batsman at any stage of the innings and the swift changes of pace without much change in the auction. Meredith has so far had a brief T20 career where he has played 34 matches and has 43 wickets in his kitty. Despite that he can be a fruitful pick for any of the IPL franchise.
Mark Steketee
Mark Steketee who was recently picked for the Australian team for South Africa. Though the tour has been postponed for now due to COVID-19 issues but Steketee has impressed one and all with his bowling in this year’s BBL playing for Brisbane Heat. A handy lower order batsman as well, Steketee turn out to be a utility buy for any franchise who are looking for a big-hitting pace bowler.
Steketee has picked up 24 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 21.20.
Tanveer Sangha
The find of the BBL 10 season, leg spinner Tanveer Sangha has impressed every single person in the ground with his incredible maturity in difficult conditions. Just 19 years old at the moment, Sangha, has picked wickets more often than not and has managed to trouble batsmen with his flight and attacking approach. The 19-year-old has bagged 21 wickets in 15 matches for Sydney Thunder. The leggie can be one player who would fetch good amount money.
