Having been troubled by the pink ball in Adelaide, India and skipper Rohit Sharma would want to quickly move on from the horrorful day-night Test against Australia that affected their World Test Championship (WTC) chances with just three games remaining in the cycle.
For India to qualify, they have to win atleast two games from three matches with a single loss, causing the campaign to derail. One crucial factor that the Indian side will heavily rely on is the form of their captain Rohit, who missed the first Test due to personal reasons and then failed miserably in the second Test.
To maintain the successful opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul, Sharma sacrificed his opening slot and batted in the middle-order so as not to disturb the balance of the side. However, there are now reports that Rohit is likely to move back to the top in pursuit of gaining his form in the white jersey back.
A veteran of 65 Test matches, Rohit has smashed 4,279 runs so far at an average of 41.54 with 12 hundreds and 18 fifties to his name.
Rohit Sharma Test Stats At Gabba
The 37-year-old has featured in the Gabba Test in Brisbane just two times in his career, once during the 2014 tour and the next time in 2021, when India won the historic match to earn the series victory.
Looking at his stats at this ground, the right-hander has only managed 83 runs in his four innings with scores of 32, 0, 44 and 7, respectively. Averaging just 20.75 in his four opportunities here, Rohit has batted with a strike rate of 54.60. Interestingly, the mode of dismissal across all four innings has been caught.

He would indeed look to improve his underwhelming record at the Gabba in Tests when India takes on Australia from 14th December at this venue.
