The ICC World Cup 2023 has been a blockbuster tournament, providing fans across the globe with endless entertainment. However, despite ensuring basic amenities for the spectators at the venues, the BCCI has earned massive backlash for misconducting the ticket selling process.

While most of the fans have struggled to get the tickets for India vs South Africa game, a man was recently arrested by Kolkata police for selling them to black markets.

Notably, the person was found selling the tickets, originally priced INR 2500, for a whopping INR 11000 each. After the incident, a fan has filed an FIR against the BCCI and Cricket Association of Bengal, alleging them of black marketing.

As reported by Crictoday, Kolkata police has promptly acted on the matter, issuing a notice to the BCCI, CAB and BookMyShow and asking them to appear at Maidan police station on November 2 as a part of the investigation process.

Talking about India, the Men in Blue sit at second in the points table with six consecutive wins in the World Cup. They have been absolutely ruthless in the competition and will meet South Africa in their eighth league-stage match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
