Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan has signed with Sydney Sixers for the remainder of the 2021-22 Big Bash League season.
The Sixers team have suffered some injury blows with offspinner Ben Manenti being out after suffering a neck injury while left-arm spinner Steve O'Keefe has been sidelined with a calf strain.
Apart from this, Tom Curran is out with a back injury as well. England bowler Chris Jordan’s five-game tenure has come to an end.
"We welcome Shadab's skills in all three facets of the game and can't wait to see him get an opportunity in coming matches," Sixers coach Greg Shipperd said.
Shadab is going to be the fifth Pakistan player to be a part of BBL this season after Haris Rauf, Syed Faridoun, Ahmad Daniyal and Muhammad Husnain.
In a total of 175 T20s that Shadab has played, he has 197 wickets at an economy rate of just over 7 and bowling average of under 23.
The right-hander is also a handy batter and can be used as a pinch hitter. He has notched up 1407 runs in the T20s at a strike-rate of 133.36.
