Axar Patel Named Delhi Capitals Captain For IPL 2025

Indian all-rounder Axar Patel has been officially appointed as the captain of the Delhi Capitals franchise for the IPL 2025 season. The franchise confirmed its decision on Friday, March 14, i.e., mere days after charismatic Indian batter and leading contender KL Rahul reportedly declined the offer of leading the team.

Axar joined the Delhi Capitals franchise back in 2019 after spending five seasons at Punjab Kings. A veteran of 150 IPL matches, the 31-year-old has so far minted 1,653 runs in 113 innings at a strike rate of nearly 131, all while harvesting 123 wickets.

PCB Announce Free Entry For National T20 Cup 2025 Matches

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced free entry for fans into the stadiums for the first eight matches of the National T20 Cup 2025 season. The move is likely implemented to boost the popularity of the tournament. The National T20 Cup will run from March 14 till March 27 and will be hosted by four venues spanning three different cities, namely Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan.

As per the PCB update, the eight matches scheduled to be played at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad from March 14 till March 20 will be free for spectators.

Josh Hazlewood Expected To Get Fit For IPL 2025: Report

Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood will likely regain full fitness before the start of the IPL 2025 season. Hazlewood was recently ruled out of Australia’s 2025 ICC Champions Trophy squad owing to a side strain. His potential recovery will serve as a positive development for the RCB franchise, who acquired the champion Australian cricketer for a staggering sum of Rs. 12.50 crores back during the IPL 2025 mega auction.

The RCB, under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, is set to play its first match of the IPL 2025 season on March 22 against defending champions KKR.

ICC Announces Women’s World Cup 2025 Qualifier Schedule

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the schedule of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 qualifier. The tournament will run from April 9 to April 19 and will be hosted by two Lahore-based venues, the Gaddafi Stadium as well as the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground.

As many as six teams, namely Bangladesh, Ireland, Pakistan, Scotland, Thailand and West Indies; will be competing in the 15-match competition to seal the final two places in the upcoming ICC Women’s ODI World Cup later this year.

CSK To Organize Free Bus Rides For Fans In IPL 2025

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise has announced a special partnership with the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) to provide free bus tickets to CSK fans to watch their team in action at their home ground, the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai during the IPL 2025 season. Fans travelling with match passes for a CSK home game will receive free bus ride to the stadium, and the offer will start three hours before the game time on CSK’s match days at home.
