India are currently playing against England in the second ODI of the three match series. match is being played at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
Notably, England won the toss for the game and opted to field first. The visitors had a great start to their innings as Ben Duckett and Philip Salt provided them with a blazing start. It was looking like the duo would build a big partnership and lay the foundation of a huge score.
Just when the partnership was getting dangerous, the mystery spinner of the Indian team, Varun Chakravarthy picked up the wicket of Phil Salt and gave the team the first breakthrough. Ben Duckett, who was looking the more dangerous of the two also fell at an interval of about 20 runs and that game started changing in favour of the Indian team.
Rahul Allows Root A Life Line
However, Joe Root and Harry brook got together at this stage and started the repair job for England. India got a chance to send Root back in the 25th over but due to the ignorance of KL Rahul missed it. On the third delivery of the over, Axar Patel bowled a full ball at the off and middle stump line, which Root tried to sweep. However, Root missed the ball and was wrapped on the pads.
There was a big appeal for the leg before which the umpire denied. There was a long discussion about whether the review should be taken or not. It seemed like KL Rahul convinced Rohit against taking the review. However, the replays show that had the review been taken Root would have been dismissed.
The blunder by Rahul agitated the Indian fans. They were seen taking to the social Media and vent out their anger on the star.
Here is how the fans reacted on Social Media
Root has moved on from there and has gone past his half-century. The misjudged DRS call from Rahul is already proving India costly. It would be interesting to see how much Root makes India pay.
