  • Apl 2022 Utl Vs Csr Srinivas Tapaswi Shines As Coastal Riders Win By Six Wickets

APL 2022 | UTL vs CSR | Srinivas, Tapaswi shines as Coastal Riders win by six wickets

In the bout against Uttarandhra Lions (UTL), Coastal Riders (CSR) emerged as a shoo-in, gathering an easy victory by six wickets.

As many as five overs remained when Mitta Lekhaz Reddy scored the winning run, handing the Coastal Riders their first victory of the season.

Chasing a paltry target of 134 runs, CSR rocketed like a Ferrari, scoring rapidly in the first three overs. However, as wickets fell in clusters, the CR Gnaneshwar-led team seemed in disarray.

Shoaib Md Khan architected the collapse, with the Riders' innings lying in the doldrums. From 37/0 to 57/4, it all went down the cliff pretty soon for CSR.

Although the Lions found themselves at the top at the end of the eighth over, Pinninti Tapaswi and Mitta Lekhaz Reddy rose to the occasion for Coastal Riders, stitching a vital 77-run partnership for the team's cause.

Reddy and Tapaswi remained unbeaten at 32 and 43 runs, respectively and led the side towards a convincing six-wicket win.

Earlier, Uttarandhra Lions could post only 133 runs on the scoreboard after electing to bat first.

Their openers, Srikar Bharat and C Kranthi Kumar, fared well, recording an 89-run opening stand. However, as seen in the last few games, it again proved to be a little too tricky after the tenth-over mark to maintain the run rate.

Runs dried up, and wickets tumbled regularly; hence, the lions were restricted to 133/8 in 20 overs.

The off-spinner Sirla Hima Srinivas was CSR's best bowler as he picked three crucial wickets, conceding just 17 runs in his full quota of overs.

Brief scores:

Uttarandhra Lions - 133/8 (20)

Srikar Bharat 52(35), C Kranthi Kumar 32(34);

Sirla Hima Srinivas 3-17 (4), Cheepurapalli Stephen 1-24 (4)

Coastal Riders - 134/4 (15)

Pinninti Tapaswi 43*(21), Mitta Lekhaz Reddy 32*(27);

Shoaib Md Khan 3-14 (3)

Coastal Riders won by six wickets.

Former Indian Cricketer Unhappy With Team India's Decision Of Leaving Out Deepak Hooda For 2nd T20I

Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan has expressed his disappointment at Team India's decision to drop Deepak Hooda in the second T20I against England at Edgbaston on Saturday (July 9). The Rohit Sharma-led side made a total of four changes in the playing XI for the second T20I, leaving out Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh, while Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja and star pacer Jasprit Bumrah returned to the team after missing out the series opener. While it was confirmed that Kohli would return to the side in the second T20I, not many could have expected that it would be Deepak Hooda making way for the former skipper in the team. The star all-rounder has been in terrific form lately and has grabbed the opportunity, in whatever way it has been offered, with both hands. In the two-match T20I series against Ireland, Hooda slammed a gorgeous 47 in the first T20, followed by an impressive century in the 2nd T20, which was his first in international cricket. The Baroda-cricketer continued his red-hot form in England as he played a sensational knock of 17-ball 33 in the first T20I and gave the much-needed boost to the ‘Men in Blue’. Following back-to-back heroics with the bat of late, it was pretty perplexing to see Hooda being left out of the team. The former Indian all-rounder took to Twitter to express his dissatisfaction with India's decision to leave out Hooda and said that the all-rounder was very unfortunate to miss out despite being in red-hot form. "Very unfortunate for Deepak Hooda to miss out in this red hot form," read Pathan's post on Twitter. https://twitter.com/IrfanPathan/status/1545765219225391105?t=ZX3xD7cjLxAiEqC3NpSS2w&s=19 As long as the match is concerned, Team India, after putting in to bat first, got off to a flying start, with Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant registering a 49-run stand for the first wicket. The duo went bonkers with the bat but failed to convert it to big individual scores. While Sharma whacked 31 runs off 20 deliveries braided with three boundaries and two sixes, wicketkeeper-batter Pant slammed a 15-ball 26. Thanks to late flourishes from Jadeja, who smacked 29-ball 46 and remained not out, India posted a decent total of 170/8 off 20 overs. India’s target turned out to be sufficient as England were bundled out for a paltry total of
