West Indian powerhouse Andre Russell might have come in to bolster his team’s chances in the Big Bash League, but he will have to stay two meters away from his teammates.
Melbourne Stars are scheduled to take on Sydney Thunder on Friday, 10 December, and will be aided by the inclusion of Andre Russell, who is coming into the team after quarantining in Sydney for three days. However, under the guidelines of the BBL, Russell will be given a separate dugout to sit in, stay 2 meters away from his teammates and will not be allowed to touch any player.
The regulations do not end there. Russell will have to use a different dressing room, lift and gate to travel across the stadium to make sure that he does not come in contact with anyone else. He will also need a separate microphone set-up for a post match interview, in case the need arises.
Stars were battered in their first game against the Thunder’s cross-town rivals Sydney Sixers and will be looking to shake that defeat off.
The inclusion of the likes of Nathan Coulter-Nile, Marcus Stoinis, Andre Russell and Qais Ahmed will help the Stars immensely in their second game of the tournament.
