Delhi Bulls’ Adil Rashid made headlines with a hat-trick against Team Abu Dhabi on Thursday, 2 December in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Chasing 136 in 10 overs, the Abu Dhabi side didn’t really have a good start as they lost an early wicket but captain Liam Livingstone and Philip Salt tried to steady the ship with a 34-run stand.
Salt was eventually undone by Shiraz Ahmed for 25 off 9 which certainly broke the shackles but Team Abu Dhabi was further pushed onto the backfoot when Rashid ripped through their middle order.
He first removed Livingstone for 29 off 14 and then followed it with the dismissals of Colin Ingram and Jamie Overton with consecutive deliveries to reduce the side to 59/5. Team Abu Dhabi never really got back on track and were restricted to 86/8 in 10 overs to lose the match by 49 runs. Rashid returned with figures of 3/15 in 2 overs.
Earlier, Delhi Bulls rode on individual fifties from Gurbaz and Sherfane Rutherford to post 135/5 in 10 overs.
