The reports of Virat Kohli opting out of the ODI series against South Africa has again led to the speculations of his rift with the white-ball captain Rohit Sharma.
While Rohit will be missing out the red-ball series due to the hamstring injury, Virat is reportedly not available for the ODIs to supposedly spend a few days away from cricket with his family. Virat was expected to play under Rohit for the first time in international cricket but his unavailability means fans have to wait a bit longer to see this happen.
However, few fans on social media are not very convinced with the reasons for their unavailability and have smelled a rift between the two cricketers. As the rumours are again spread like fire, a BCCI official recorded a statement and requested to not pay any heed to these.
The official, however, did verify that the Indian Test captain has asked for a short break to be with his family.
"Virat Kohli has informed us that he'll not be available for the ODI series. He wants to spend time with his family - don't read into social media rumours too much, there is nothing between Virat and Rohit", a BCCI official informed News 9.
