National teammates and Indain Premier League (IPL) rivals Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are both vital cogs for their respective franchises.

While Kohli is the current recipient of the coveted ‘Orange Cap’ this IPL 2024 season, ace paceman Bumrah continues to remain a potent frontline bowler for the Mumbai Indians.

The two cricketers also occupy prominent spots in the national team, and are widely revered among the modern-day greats for their respective trades.

As evidenced from their dynamic personalities, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah’s faceoff in the hallowed arenas of IPL are often hyped up by the tournament’s broadcasters to gain traction.

In a hilarious incident, the official broadcasters of the IPL 2024 season committed a monumental statistical blunder involving the two cricketing stars ahead of their April 11 duel at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

The stat in question indicates that Bumrah has accounted for the wicket of Kohli a staggering 152 times in all IPL matches at an expense of just four runs.

Mumbai Indians hosted RCB in match number 25 of the IPL 2024 season on April 11 at the Wankhede Stadium. During their pre-game analysis, streaming broadcasters JioCinema committed a monumental statistical error between the head-to-head numbers of RCB batter Virat Kohli and Mumbai Indians quick Jasprit Bumrah.

According to a display, Kohli has managed to score just four runs off Bumrah while being dismissed 152 times in IPL.

The broadcasting blunder aside, Jasprit Bumrah can proudly add another Virat Kohli scalp to his IPL tally considering the ace speedster dismissed the RCB opener in his first over of the match.

Following Kohli’s rare failure this season, RCB number three Will Jacks also followed suite as he was done-in by a short delivery from Akash Madhwal.

By the completion of the first 11 overs of the innings, RCB reached a troublesome 93-2.
