England were helped by an impressive Ollie Robinson and he did not disappoint with a five-wicket haul that included the big wickets of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant.
He reached the landmark for the second time in his four-match long career and stepped up as James Anderson was not getting his line right initially in the second innings.
Ollie Robinson got the better of Rishabh Pant, who has looked a pale shadow of himself so far on this tour and series. He went back to the pavilion edging tall pacer to the third slip and India slipped to face the prospect of defeat by an innings.
James Anderson got better of his terrible record in the second innings in the recent past with the huge wicket of Ajinkya Rahane, who was guilty of poking at a delivery that straightened from the fourth stump line.
Robinson followed with another dagger through India’s heart with the wicket of Ravindra Jadeja and killing all chances of India’s revival in the third Test at Headingley.
Olle Robinson broke India’s back with the big wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli. The Indian skipper lost all his control from the last day and was guilty of fishing at balls outside his off stump. He got to his fifty but remained weak on his off stump line and Robinson got him edging to Joe Root at the first slip.
India are still behind by 117 runs and only magic can prevent their loss in the third Test in Leeds.
India started the fourth day at 215/2 with the skipper Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara resuming their innings from 45 and 91 respectively. However, even before they could add on to their individual or team's scores, Ollie Robinson caught Pujara leaving a ball that would hit the stumps and India suffered a big setback very early in the day.
The first session, especially the first hour will set the tone for both sides and while batsmen have stabilised tourists to some extent, they are still trailing behind a big margin of 139 runs.
