In the ongoing first of two Test match series between India U-19 and Australia U-19, 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has scripted history as he became the youngest cricketer to smash a century in youth cricket history. Australia, under-19, batting first, put 293 runs on the board. In reply, India U-19 are 172/3 after 30 overs. Vaibhav scored 104 (62), which featured 14 fours and four sixes.

It is worth noting that Suryavanshi brought up his hundred in just 58 balls, which is the second-fastest hundred in the history of youth Test cricket. He is only behind England's Moeen Ali, who scripted a 56-ball hundred against Sri Lanka in 2005. Nonetheless, Vaibhav is the youngest and fastest Indian to score a century in youth Tests.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Goes Past Babar Azam And Najmul Shanto

That is not the end of records scripted by Vaibhav as he also shattered records held by Najmul Shanto and Babar Azam.

Suryavanshi at the age of 13 years and 188 days has become the youngest centurion in professional cricket. Vaibhav surpassed Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto's record as the youngest player to hit a ton in professional cricket. Shanto was just 14 years and 241 days old when he scored a century in an ODI match against Sri Lanka U19 in 2013. Babar Azam is the third youngest behind Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Najmul Hossain Shanto.

Vaibhav scripted history in 2024 when he became the youngest debutant in the Ranji Trophy in the modern era. He then broke Yuvraj Singh and Sachin Tendulkar's to become India's youngest debutant at the age of 12.

Suryavanshi became the fourth-youngest Indian to play a first-class match at the age of 12 years and 284 days when he was handed his debut at the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna. Alimuddin, at 12 years and 73 days, holds the record for being the youngest debutant in first-class cricket, when he played for Rajputana against Baroda in 1942-43.
