Strengths of Gujarat Giants for WPL 2024
Depth in the batting department
The Gujarat Giants have invested a good amount in Indian batters for this season. Combined with the overseas options, the team has a good depth in this department. They have made arrangements for back-up of the primary players if needed during the tournament.
Experienced leadership group
The Giants will be led by the Australian veteran Beth Mooney this season. She has plenty of experience at the highest level, which will help the team in their journey.
Besides, Mooney will have players like Laura Wolvaardt, Ashleigh Gardner, and Lea Tahuhu to advise and guide her in crunch situations. The experience in this leadership group seems vast and will be a plus for the team.
Weaknesses of Gujarat Giants for WPL 2024
Lack of power hitters
The top order will have Beth Mooney and Laura Wolvaardt for the Giants. Both these batters like to their time at the beginning of the innings and then take the attack to the opposition. The Giants might lack power-packed starts.
Even in the middle order, a lot will depend on Vena Krishnamurthy and Phoebe Litchfield to increase the scoring rate. Because barring these two batters, very few names could be on the fifth gear from the beginning of their knocks.

Over dependency on overseas recruits

Though the Giants have several Indian recruits this year, there is a lack of experience among them. Barring Sneh Rana, there are not many experienced and proven Indian players. Players to Watch Out for
Phoebe Litchfield - The young Australian opener has proved herself in the international circuit in the past year. The Giants will depend a lot in Litchfield to increase their scoring rate at the beginning as she will most probably be used in the top-order.
Lea Tahuhu - The Kiwi pacer will be leading the bowling unit of the Giants. Tahuhu's experience and skills makes her a player to look forward to in the tournament.
Ashleigh Gardner - The Australian off-spinner is vastly experienced and she will be a treat to watch on the Indian pitches. However, how she adjusts to the Chinnaswamy wicket will be interesting to watch and that will also play a big part in how far the Giants go in the tournament.

Prediction for Gujarat Giants in the WPL 2024
