Throughout this ICC World Cup Qualifiers we have come across many surprises. One of the few surprises are the Netherlands team who have currently won 4 out of their 6 games in the tournament that include memorable wins against Oman and two time world champions West Indies which was a high scoring thriller which ended in a super over where Van Beek smashed the experience Jason holder for 31 runs and also restricted the windies batsman to 8 runs securing an amazing victory for the men in Orange.

The Netherlands have looked like a dangerous side ever since the upset against South Africa in the T20 world cup last year. The last time the Netherlands played the 50 over world cup was in 2011 which was 12 years ago, this is the season where they are looking to prove to everyone that they are ready for the big stage.

The Netherlands boast of a deep and dangerous batting lineup where the top 5 batsmen have contributed to most of the runs. Dutch skipper Scott Edwards has contributed 18.92% of the team’s runs which is the most out of all the batsmen and is currently the highest run getter for the team in this tournament with 288 runs consisting of 4 half centuries with an average of 96.

The second most contribution comes from the talented left hander Vikramjit Singh who has contributed 16.80% of the runs by scoring 273 runs with an average of 45.50 along with his opening partner Max O’Dowd who is not far away with contributing 15.54% of the teams runs by scoring 246 runs with an average of 41. Together this opening pair contributes above 30% of the team's runs which is absolutely phenomenal for an opening pair.

The experience of Wesley Barresi has been a great addition to the Dutch batting line up by contributing 14.05% of the runs. With 212 runs consisting of 2 half centuries including a formidable 97 against Oman makes him a huge asset to the team. The middle order of the dutch batting lineup has also played major roles and cameos to help build the entire innings with Teja Nidamanuru being the pick of them by contributing to 11.71% of the runs which is the most contribution in the middle order which consists of a great hundred against the West Indies that got them close to the massive target of 374.

The quick and explosive cameos from Bas de leede(9.97%), Saqib Zulfiqar(4.73%) and Logan Van Beek(3.32%) have also been effective for the team as it puts pressure on any bowling lineup in the tournament. Overall this Netherlands batting lineup can be one of the most dangerous in the tournament as it not only boasts of players who are talented and explosive but also who can build their innings as well. They also consist of lower middle order hitters who can put any world class bowling lineup under pressure.

Conclusion

In the end we all have to agree that this Netherlands side can be one of the most dangerous associate sides in the future with explosive top order batsmen in Edwards, Vikramjit, Max O’ Dowd and and barresi and great allround options in Logan Van Beek and Bas De Leede who are not only effective with the ball but can also play match winning cameos with bat in hand. They can be a serious threat if they qualify for the World cup this season.
