The 2023 World Cup is on a roller coaster ride with ten world class teams contesting against one another in the round robin format. After all the nations play at least one game, it will be New Zealand (NZ) initiating the second set against Netherlands (NED). The two nations will be facing off on match 6 of the coveted event in the Rajiv Gandhi international Stadium, Hyderabad.

The Kiwis kicked off the tournament with a bang, steamrolling the defending champions by  nine wickets. A 273-run second wicket stand between Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra saw them surmount the target of 283 runs with 82 balls in hand.

On the other hand, Netherlands were gutsy in their performance against Pakistan but failed to close the margin of gap as the lower order crumbled under pressure. After brilliant endeavours in the bowling and fielding department, the batters failed to gell as a unit. Vikramjit Singh and Bas de Leede's half-centuries went in vain as no one were able to finish the job.

Having said that, now let us have a close look at the predicted XI of New Zealand against Netherlands.

Openers: Devon Conway and Will Young

New Zealand are likely to continue with Devon Conway and Will Young until Kane Williamson is fully fit to be in the playing XI and take charge of the middle-order.

Conway blasted the tournament with a bang, scoring a spellbinding 152 off 121 balls that saw 19 fours and three sixes. The South Africa-bred cricketer has had a journey to remember and cemented his position at the top of the order since the past couple of years. Will Young, on the other hand failed to shine against England but was impressive during their recent Bangladesh bilateral series where he notched up fifties under pressure. Based on one failure, the management shall not make amendments around him.

Middle-Order: Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham and Mark Chapman

New Zealand won the game against England without regular skipper, Kane Williamson in the middle order and shall look to move into this contest in the same fashion. Daryl Mitchell had an amazing outing with Lancashire and London Spirits in the County and the Men's hundred during the English summer and was in healthy touch. He's likely to be followed by stand-in skipper Tom Latham who averages over 50 in the Indian conditions. The left-handed batter is one of their best players of quality spin.

The duo will be backed by Mark Chapman in the lower middle order who's potentially turning out to be a key asset of the side in finishing matches. He averages 44.83 after playing eight matches. Chapman also has two centuries in a brief span of just 12 innings

All-rounders: Rachin Ravindra, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner and Jimmy Neesham

New Zealand are full of multi-dimensional cricketers. Rachin Ravindra and Mitchell Santner are their left-arm orthodox spin all-rounders. The former garnered his maiden World Cup ton against the Three Lions in their competition opener while the latter did not concede a single boundary in ten overs against the same team. However, Ravindra has been batting up the order like he did for his domestic teams such as the Wellington Firebirds and has been a revelation.

Glenn Phillips has been an indispensable weapon of this team with the bat and ball. The part-time off-spinner came out of the shell and got two of their important Englishmen outsmarted- Joe Root and Moeen Ali. The South African-born cricketer is a four-dimensional cricketer as he can bowl, he can bat, he's a gun fielder and he can keep the wickets as well.

New Zealand also favoured Jimmy Neesham in their playing XI in the last game and should move with their winning combination. His presence made the skipper easy to rotate the bowler's and give breaks to the front-runners.

Bowlers: Matt Henry and Trent Boult.

In the absence of Lockie Ferguson and Tim Southee, the Black Caps will have to bank on the services of Matt Henry and Trent Boult with the new ball and during the slog overs. Although Southee and Ferguson are available for selection against the Dutch, it makes less sense of risking them early in the competition.

Boult was used very efficiently in the last game, more like in patches. He is their lead bowler and has the knack for snapping wickets with the new cork. Henry, on the other hand, hits the right areas consistently and gets a bit of lateral movement to make life difficult for the batters. Such instances were indeed vivid during the World Cup opener in the Narendra Modi Stadium against England.
