The most anticipated 2023 World Cup has been underway and the 15th match of the coveted tournament will see South Africa face off against Netherlands at the H.P.C.A Stadium in Dharamsala. This will be the third game of both sides and slated to begin at 2:00 PM IST.

At the very beginning of the World Cup, South Africa has been the epitome of a powerhouse generating powerbombs every now and then against opponents. They defeated the Sri Lankan team with the highest total in World Cup history, 428. There were three centuries from South Africa in that match with Aiden Markram racing to the quickest century in World Cup history, outdoing Ireland's Kevin O'Brien.

The African nation has been dominant so far, with victories over Sri Lanka and Australia. They now have four points and will try to catch up to New Zealand and India in the points tally.

The Netherlands, on the other hand, continues to demonstrate fortitude. They were a tenacious group that failed to narrow the gap as a whole against Pakistan in their tournament opener. They put forth strong attempts against Pakistan and New Zealand but were ultimately overshadowed. During the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia, the Dutch team trounced the Proteas and ruined the party. Colin Ackermann's team will be looking to produce a repeat performance.

They are currently placed at the very bottom half of the points table and will quest to cash on the opportunity to open their winning account. Let us have a quick look at their predicted XI against South Africa.

Openers: Vikramjit Singh and Max O'Dowd

Netherlands may continue with their opening pair of Vikramjit Singh and Max O'Dowd. The former has been in brilliant touch with the bat, scoring a half-century against Pakistan while O'Dowd is a batter full of potential. The Dutch management tends to back the two at the top of the order in the absence of veteran Stephen Myburgh.

Middle-Order: Scott Edwards, Teja Nidamanuru and Sybrand Engelbrecht

The captain is going to be a regular in the playing XI. Scott Edwards is also a very good player of spin. He is likely to be followed by Teja Nidamanuru and Sybrand Engelbrecht in the batting stack.

Teja has roots from South India and is a wristy player. He has raised up the domestic ranks in the back of blissful centuries. Sybrand on the other hand was a part of South Africa's domestic set-up a few years back. He is renowned for a stunning catch during the 2008 U-19 World Cup and for his charismatic batting. The stylish batter had a brilliant domestic season last year and therefore found himself enroute to the World Cup.

All-rounders: Colin Ackermann, Bas de Leede, Roelof van der Merwe

Netherlands have more than handy all-rounders in their set-up. Colin Ackermann generally bats at no. 3-4 and shone against New Zealand in their last game. He can also bowl handy finger spin.

Bas de Leede is a gem to be preserved for the Netherlands cricket team. He can bowl across various phases of the game and has an array of shots in armoury. He scored a half-century in the tournament opener of Dutch against Pakistan and would look to get some more runs under the belt.

Roelof is one of the senior pros of the Netherlands team and is their lead spinner. He can be handy with the bat in hand too.

Bowlers: Ryan Klein, Aryan Dutt and Paul van Meekeren

Ryan Klein and Paul van Meekeren are to lead the pace bowling unit of the Netherlands team for their upcoming battle against South Africa. The former is filling the void of injured Logan van Beek while the latter is their lead pacer. An interesting part about Klein is that the batting depth increases with his presence. Klein was striking the ball well during their preparatory matches against Karnataka a week ahead of the warm-up fixtures.
