The Women's T20 World Cup is up and running in style, and the stage is now set for one of the biggest game of the tournament - India vs Pakistan. It is the seventh game of the competition and with India losing their first game, this match is almost a do-or-die encounter. Pakistan, on the other hand, are coming into the high-octane clash with a morale-boosting win against Sri Lanka and would now be itching to get the better of India as well

However, India have traditionally dominated the proceedings between the two sides, and the last time these two sides met in a T20 World Cup encounter, India won the game by seven wickets. It was a Group 2 encounter of the 2023 Women's T20 World Cup in Cape Town and Pakistan batted first. They lost four wickets for the score of 68 in the 13th over and it looked like would be restricted below 130. However, the skipper of the side at that time, Bismah Maroof played a valiant knock of 68 off 55 balls and the young Ayesha Naseem smashed 43 off 25 balls to take Pakistan to a competitive total of 43 off 25 balls.

Rodrigues' Fifty Powers India To Seven-Wicket Victory

In reply, India lost wicket of Yastika Bhatia in the Powerplay, but Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues build a solid stand and took India to safer shores. They lost Shafali and Harmanpreet in quick succession in middle overs, but young Richa Ghosh joined Jemimah and the duo took India over the line with an unbeaten 58-run stand. Rodrigues scored 58 off 38 balls while Richa scored 31 off 20 balls.

India chased down the target with one over to spare as Rodrigues smashed three boundaries in the penultimate over to take India to a memorable win. The upcoming encounter at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium is likely to be another cracking encounter between two arch rivals as both teams look to grab two crucial points from the game.
