The premier fast-bowler of Pakistan, Naseem Shah, went out of the field during their game against India without completing his quota of 10 overs in the Super 4s. Pakistan fans would not have wanted to see those scenes, but Naseem injured his shoulder and left the field.

With a few injuries in the camp, Pakistan could not play their full-strength team and was eliminated from the race to the final by the Sri Lankan team. Naseem has been a regular member of the Pakistan team in all three formats for quite a while now.

In the post-match press conference, captain Babar Azam hinted that Naseem might miss the initial stage of the World Cup. But now there is news that will not be able to recover in time and is likely to miss the entire World Cup.

Here are the top three players who can replace the injured Naseem Shah:

Zaman Khan

The right-arm fast bowler, Zaman Khan made his ODI debut in a must-win game against Sri Lanka in the Super 4s of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. With a Malinga-like action, Zaman rose to popularity by picking up 15 wickets in the last PSL season.

His ODI debut might not have been the way he expected it to be, but he has won many hearts. He had to save nine runs in the last over, he almost had it with his fiery yorkers but missed the length on the last ball. With the sheer pace and the ability to bowl at the death, he will be a perfect replacement for Naseem.

Shahnawaz Dahani

Shahnawaz Dahani was asked to come to Sri Lanka as a backup option for Haris Rauf, who got a minor injury in the Super fours against India. The right-arm pacer flew to Sri Lanka considering the possibility of Pakistan reaching the final. But Sri Lanka knocked them out and Shahnawaz had to leave the same day he arrived.

Naseem's rise turned out to be an unfavourable thing for Dahani as he was replaced by Naseem after making his debut. But now it seems that Dahani will be named as a replacement for him in the Squad.

Mohammad Wasim Jr.

Wasim Jr. who was a part of Pakistan's squad for the Asia Cup 2023 got a chance to play in the game against Sri Lanka, which was a must-win game. He bowled only three overs and gave 25 runs. But he has been there with the team for a while now. Having played 16 ODIs for Pakistan, Wasim has picket 24 wickets.

Now, he has been very much familiar with the ODIs and is the most experienced among these three. He also has the ability to click 145 kmph at will, which is what Pakistan fast-bowlers are known for. So, he also becomes the strong candidate to replace Naseem for the upcoming World Cup.
