Siraj Dropped, Ashwin In? Here's India's Playing XI For World Cup Final Vs Australia

After securing ten consecutive wins, India are all set to collide with Australia in the 2023 World Cup final on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India have showcased exemplary skillset, outclassing their opponents across all departments of the game.

While Rohit Sharma has led from the front with the bat, the middle order comprising Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul has stepped up when needed. Also, veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has had an outstanding tournament with bat and ball, proving why he is rated highly by the experts.

However, if there is anything India should be concerned about, it's the bowling form of Mohammed Siraj in the mega event. Despite picking 13 wickets, the speedster from Hyderabad has been inconsistent with his line and length, conceding runs at an ordinary economy of 5.62.

More importantly, Siraj was sub-par with the ball in India's semifinal clash against New Zealand, recording horrendous figures of one for 78 in nine overs. He bowled all over the place and got hammered by the Kiwis on Wankhede's batting-friendly surface, where Mohammed Shami registered a historic seven-wicket haul.

So, considering Siraj's bowling form, fans and experts expect India to replace him with veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, especially if a used pitch is dished out for the final. Ashwin's inclusion could also offer India an additional batting option down the order. If it happens, Shami could open the bowling with Bumrah.

However, considering the Indian management's nature to back the players to the hilt, we don't think they will drop Siraj in the final. So, most probably, India would continue with the same XI that featured in the semifinal in Mumbai.
