Sheikh Zayed Stadium Abu Dhabi pitch report: Is it a batting or bowling friendly?
Historically, the Abu Dhabi surface has been a decent batting surface where the batters enjoy playing their strokes. This was evident in the first match at this venue in ILT20 2025 between Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Desert Vipers.
The ball was coming onto the bat nicely and the batters had a great outing. The surface was true to its nature as the pacers had something for them in the early burst, but got better for batting.
Expect the same thing to happen on Monday and ther pitch will once again be decent for batting. Since this is the start of the tournament, the surface won't detoriate. In the second innings, the spinners might come into play, so, don't be surprised if the toss winning captain elects to bat.
Players To Watch Out For At Sheikh Zayed Stadium Abu Dhabi
Gulbadin Naib
The Afghan all-rounder stole the show in the opening contest and could once again be the difference maker at this venue. His change of pace deliveries and the ability to bowl cutters could prove to be useful on a surface which could support slower bowlers in the second innings.
Kusal Perera
The Sri Lankan flopped in the first game against the same opposition, but could prove his worth on a better batting pitch. Here, the ball will come onto the bat nicely and Perera is a great stroke-maker who could utilise the power-play on this batting friendly surface.
Rovman Powell
The West Indian wasn't at his absolute best in the last game, but with the pitch assisting the batters, Powell could utilise his hitting abilities and could play the role of a finisher to perfection at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
