The ICC World Cup 2023 is only weeks away from starting on the 5th of October. It is time to analyse how the teams have performed this season. Let's take a look at some of the best pace attacks who can be very impactful in this tournament. Throughout this season we have seen some great performances from some of the best pacers in international cricket.

It will also be interesting to see how these top pacemen will adapt to the conditions in India that mostly support the spinners. Even though the conditions on these grounds will not give them as much pace and bounce we cannot side-line these talented workhorses. These pacers will be the key factor for the teams as they will get responsibility to give great starts with the new ball and finish the innings at the death.

The pacers have really dominated this season with not only their pace and swing, but also their variations as well. The best pace attack in ODI’s has so far been the Indian Pace attack. This season has seen the rise of some talented pace bowlers in the Indian set up. Siraj and Shami have been brilliant this season with their swing and control and were successful in making early breakthroughs.

Shardul Thakur has also been brilliant with his variations at the death. The Indian pace attack has taken 95 wickets in 17 innings at a brilliant average of 20.26. With Hardik fit to bowl and Bumrah’s comeback makes them even more dangerous. The Sri Lankan Pace attack has been phenomenal as well with 92 wickets from 22 innings at an average of 27.88.

Lahiru Kumara and Chameera have been great with their express pace and Rajitha and Pathirana have shown a lot of promise. The next team that has been exceptional is none other than New Zealand. The Kiwi pace attack has taken 90 wickets in 17 innings at an average of 32.02. They currently have a lot of variety in their bowling whether it is swing of Trent Boult and Tim Southee or the pace of Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson.

The economy rate of 6.17 might be slightly high but there is no doubt they have been one of the best pace attacks this season. These pace attacks can be dangerous for any batting line-up due to their skillset and breaking partnerships for fun.

Conclusion

These pace attacks will be a big challenge for all the batters who will play. India and Sri Lanka can be the most impactful with their pace attack as they know the conditions better. However we cannot leave out the Kiwi pacers as well who have looked threatening as a pace unit with Trent Boult back in the side.

These bowlers also had a lot of good performances just before the World Cup. This indicates that they will be high on confidence going into the tournament. Overall these teams who are boasting of these brilliant pacers will want them to have the same consistency going into the World Cup.

These bowling attacks are also capable of restricting one of the top batting line-ups. With these in form pacers the batters will have a tough competition ahead. This will be a great contest for the batters who will look to dominate these world class pace bowlers.
