In the latest developments, there are reports that January 12 is the last date for all teams to submit their squads for Champions Trophy 2025. The prestigious event begins on February 19 and ends on March 9 in Pakistan. 

Ahead of the crucial event, this article will focus on Bangladesh's probable squad as The Tigers eye their maiden Champions Trophy title. 

Shanto To Lead, Tamim To Return

Najmul Shanto, who recently stepped down as Bangladesh's T20I captain, will continue to lead the side in the white-ball formats and will captain The Tigers in 2025 Champions Trophy. Meanwhile, Litton Das, Tanzid Hasan will headline the top-order, while Tamim Iqbal is likely to return to the side as a surprise pick.

A couple of days ago, there were reports that the BCB is open to bring in Tamim Iqbal to the side. The former Bangladesh skipper last played an ODI in September 2023, but the current BCB president is in favour of bringing in Tamim. 

Shakib Al Hasan To Miss Champions Trophy 2025?

Shakib Al Hasan has been marred with several controversies in recent times. Earlier, injuries ruled him out of action and then he got trapped in political crisis. Further, Shakib, who was touted to announced his international retirement after South Africa series, but has not played any international match since India tour. 

There were reports that Shakib too can be considered for the upcoming prestigious fifty-over event, but it is unlikely that he will make it to the squad because of numerous issues in his personal life. Also, recently the ICC banned him from bowling after they found his bowling to be illegal.

Mahmadullah, Mehidy Hasan Miraj To Strengthen Middle-Order

In the middle-order, Bangladesh are likely to go ahead with the likes of Mahmadullah, Mhidy Hasan Miraj, and Soumya Sarkar, who have done well for The Tigers. Further, Afif Hossain, and Parvez Emon are also a few players that will strengthen the Bangladesh's middle-order. 

Strong Pace Attack With Nahid Rana And Taskin Ahmed

It is worth noting that Bangladesh have one of the best pace-attack, who are also on song with the ball in recent times. Talking about Nahid Rana and Mustafizur Rahman, they are the pace-express, while Taskin Ahmed, the veteran will form a formidable trio. 

In the spin unit, Bangladesh would have Rishad Hossain, and Towhid Hridoy to trouble the batters.
