After winning the toss, the Seattle Orcas decided to field first, and it turned out to be a smart decision. Super Kings never looked comfortable right from the start, they lost Conway on the very first ball and after that they kept losing wickets at the regular intervals.

At one stage they were 48-6, but because of the vital contribution of Bravo (39 runs) and Sams (26 runs), they were able to post a respectable total of 127 runs, losing all of their wickets in 20 overs. Wayne Parnell shined with the ball for Seattle Orcas, picking five wickets. Andrew Tye also grabbed two wickets.

Wayne Parnell bowled a fantastic spell for Settle Orcas and also grabbed the first five-for of the MLC 2023. He swung the ball upfront and used various tricks at the back-end overs. His first wicket was of Cody Chetty, he bowled the slower short ball and it did not come onto Chetty as he expected, was early with the shot and caught out at short fine-leg.

He picked his second wicket of dangerous David Miller, again he used his tricks and bowled a cutter, rolled his fingers over the seam and ball came back into the left-hander and flattened the off-stump of Miller, he was completely deceived and misjudged the ball. In the same over, he took the wicket of Milind Kumar, and caused more problems for Texas.

In the last over, he took the wicket of Dwayne Bravo with the back of the hand slower ball and lastly took the wicket of Zia-ul-Haq to complete his five-wicket haul. Overall, an amazing day for Wayne Parnell, he knew the wicket was slightly on the slower side, bowled the deliveries on a stump-line and used his variations very well, Texas Super Kings batters failed miserably against him.

Conclusion

A perfect game for Seattle Orcas, firstly with the ball, they were exceptional and restricted Texas Super Kings at a low total, and with the bat, De Kock got his form back, and Klaasen continued his aggressive batting and helped Seattle Orcas to win easily. With this win, they also moved to the top of the table.

On the other hand, The Super Kings have slipped to the second position with two wins in four matches. Super Kings need to improve their batting department, they are not consistent with the bat, Conway scored fifties in two games but in other two matches he got out on the first ball. Faf Du Plessis was unable to provide any impact with the bat so far, Miller also struggling to find his rhythm. Texas Super Kings next match is on July 25 against San Francisco Unicorns, they will look to give a complete performance against them.
