Being an RCB fan can be extremely difficult at times, as they have already spent the last 16 years attempting to achieve the elusive title of glory at least once. The same objective will be there yet again when they take on the field on March 22 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium against the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

So, how will they get to the miraculous task? They have a solid batting unit that can tear any opposition apart, but they do not have a reliable bowling attack to support them decently. Here, in this article, we will analyze what would be their ideal playing XI, which can keep the balance intact and make them an ideal lineup for title contenders with limited options.

There is little doubt that Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli, who batted extremely well in IPL 2023, will keep their places at the top. Now, comes the tricky part: they should try in-form Anuj Rawat, and the forgotten hero Rajat Patidar should follow them.

These moves can keep hard-hitting Cameron Green and Glenn Maxwell at Nos. 5 and 6. Dinesh Karthik, who did not seem in the best of form in RCB training lately, is expected to start as the primary wicket-keeper and will come at No. 7.

Mohammed Siraj, Alzarri Joseph, and Vijaykumar Vyshak are expected to be their fast-bowling trio, whereas Karn Sharma should be their one designated spinner in the playing XI. Of course, Maxwell will be there to round his arms, while Mahipal Lomror or Suyash Prabhudessai will come in as an impact substitute for Siraj.

It is important to note that given the fact that RCB have always been a top-heavy side, which has hurt them massively over the years, Green and Maxwell, Kohli's partner-in-crime, should come at No. 5 and No. 6, and give a chance to Rawat, who was in sublime form in the DY Patil Tournament lately. Plus, you should keep faith in Patidar, who did decently in the early days for RCB. Now only time will tell what the formula RCB will follow.
