The Kiwi’s make a great comeback in the 3rd T20I after facing a major upset in the previous encounter and win the series. The UAE bowlers started off well in the powerplay with getting both the openers out cheaply and got the black caps in a bit of trouble at 38-2. In spite of the slow start the duo of Will Young and Mark Chapman set the platform for New Zealand and got to their half centuries.

With a quickfire cameo of 20 from Santner they reached a decent total of 166. The UAE batting never got going and were 54-5 at the end of 9 overs. Despite the valiant efforts of Aayan Khan and Basil Hameed were not enough to get them over the line and eventually fell 32 Runs short of the target.

Bound by Brilliance: Finest Partnership Moments

This match had some great performances by players but it was the partnerships formed that made a difference in the match. The best partnership of the match was New Zealand’s 3rd wicket partnership between Mark Chapman and Will Young. This partnership set the tone for the Kiwis early on with the duo putting on 84 runs from 60 balls where both the batsmen displayed some great shot selection and were putting away all the loose balls on what turned out to be a slightly tricky pitch where the ball was either skidding on or giving the bowlers some extra bounce.

This turned out to be the game changing partnership that ensured that New Zealand had complete control over the game. The only positive for UAE in this match is the 6th wicket partnership between Basil Hameed and Aayan Afzal Khan who did bring some relief to the UAE score after a bit of a collapse at the top. The duo put on 68 from 57 deliveries and tried to bring some hope for UAE in the match.

Aayan Khan was the only batsman for UAE who showed some intent to bring the game deeper and therefore was the best batsman for his side and though Hameed was struggling a bit in the middle still kept his ground and gave the needed support to Aayan Khan. the other Kiwi partnership is the 5th wicket partnership between Santner and Foxcroft which was 24 from 18 balls where Santner got some valuable runs in the middle to give New Zealand a great finish.

Conclusion

Overall this series has been mostly in favour of New Zealand despite that major upset in the 2nd T20I. Even with a slightly inexperience playing eleven New Zealand dominated this UAE side completely, not letting them come back into the game at any stage. The UAE bowlers did perform decently with Jawadullah and Siddique getting some breakthroughs in the middle but the batting performance let them down completely where none of the top 5 batsmen got going at all and there was too much to do for the lower middle order.

The death bowling of UAE is also a major issue where in this game they gave 47 runs in the last 5 which is almost 9.5 runs per over whereas New Zealand only gave 32 runs and bowled well in the death. In conclusion this was a game where New Zealand dominated the whole game in all phases and where UAE could not make a comeback due to them failing with the bat completely and making a lot of errors in the death as well.
