The preparations for IPL 2025 are in full swing. All ten franchises are preparing for the upcoming mega-auctions. The teams have been asked by the BCCI to finalise a retention list as the franchises await the apex board's decision on retention policy.

Talking about Delhi Capitals, they underwent personal changes ahead of the next season and parted ways with Ricky Ponting. They were then hit by reports of Rishabh Pant moving to CSK before recent media outings stated that Pant is rumoured to be DC's first choice. Further, a report mentioned that the franchise is expected to keep Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav, likely in that order, with Jake Fraser-McGurk and Tristan Stubbs as the overseas retentions.

Thus, this article will focus on three players who can fetch big money at the IPL 2025 auction after being released by Delhi Capitals.

1.Mitchell Marsh

Mitchell Marsh is one name that Delhi are not looking to keep in their side for the next season as they are eyeing Jake Fraser-McGurk and Tristan Stubbs as their foreign retentions.

Meanwhile, Marsh, who is leading Australia in the T20I format, is a great asset. He is a great all-rounder, whom Delhi bought for 6.25 crores in IPL 2022. There are chances that Marsh will again fetch a big amount in the upcoming season.

Several franchises are targeting overseas all-rounders, and Marsh is likely to fetch 4-5 crores in the upcoming auction. He recently scored a fifty in the 2nd ODI against England.

2. David Warner

Talking about Warner, the former Australian opener is another noticeable name not in the Delhi Capitals'retention list. Warner led DC in 2023 but had a poor run with the bat in IPL 2024.

Warner has even retired from international cricket and is at the business end of his career. Thus, Delhi would be looking to release its 6.25 crore buy for IPl 2025.

Several teams would target Warner, who is the most successful overseas batter in IPL history and can still fetch 3-4 crore in the upcoming mega-auction.

3. Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw started his IPL journey with Delhi Capitals in 2018. He was bought for 1.2 crores. Over the years, his salary rose to 8 crores, but he hasn't justified his price tag, which is why he is likely to be released ahead of IPL 2025.

Nonetheless, Shaw had a stunning County stint with Northamptonshire where he shone with the bat and looks in great touch. Thus, several franchises would target Shaw for the opener's slot and in particular Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings. Thus, Shaw is likely to be sold for around 5 Crores in the upcoming mega-auction.
