India have just three ODIs to play before the start of Champions Trophy 2025. Their recent outing in the fifty-over format did not go well, as the Men in Blue lost their first bilateral series against Sri Lanka after 27 years.

The Sri Lanka tour was Gautam Gambhir's first assignment as India's head coach, and he would now be filtering the 15 best men to represent the nation in Champions Trophy 2025.

The No.4 spot has always been a talking point for India. Since the 2019 World Cup, India have not had a proper batter at No.4. Over the years, Shreyas Iyer has more or less grabbed that spot, while he is followed by KL Rahul.

Talking about Rahul, several eyebrows are raised him over his place within the team, but this article will talk about why he can turn out to be India's perfect choice at No.4 going into the Champions Trophy 2025.

1.Good Player Of Spin

Playing spin has been a forte for Indian batters. However, in recent times, several batters have struggled against the spinners. As seen in Sri Lanka, the batters faltered against spin. While Rahul too failed to make a mark with the bat, he has the capability required to perform at the big stage and score runs off spinners.

2. Get To Play The Anchor Role

KL Rahul's natural style is to build his innings. He is not someone to enter the carnage mode from the first delivery. Rahul likes to anchor his innings and swiftly change his gears.

Thus, batting at No.4 would give him a great opportunity to play in his natural style and assess the situation of the team better.

3. Composed Under Pressure

One of the finest qualities of Rahul is that he does not show emotions on the field. He is calm and composed. In case, the top order tumbled early on in the innings, Rahul has the ability to resurrect the innings and put a big score on the board.
