3 Players Kolkata Knight Riders Can Retain Before IPL 2025 Mega Auction

The Kolkata Knight Riders have had a dream IPL 2024 Season. They ended their 10 year trophy drought as they managed to win the tournament under Shreyas Iyer's leadership and Gautam Gambhir's mentorship. 

Now, with their mentor taking up the post of the Head Coach of India and the mega auction coming up, the Knight Riders will be looking to form a new group of players while keeping their core same.

Here are three players that KKR might retain ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.

1.Shreyas Iyer

The Kolkata Knight Riders will be looking to hold onto their skipper who gave them the IPL trophy after 10 years. Shreyas Iyer is well acquainted with the dressing room culture and has the experience of leading the team to success. Besides being an efficient leader, Iyer is also a very useful middle order batter who could provide solidity to a batting line-up that will probably have a few new faces. Iyer will be a great option to stick to for the Knight Riders while building a squad around him.

2. Rinku Singh

This young left-handed middle-order batter has emerged to the stature of a super star with the Kolkata Knight Riders. The franchise has backed him for a long time and the management can take a lot of credit behind Rinku Singh's evolution. As they have groomed him for a particular role and he has delivered excellently, there are little chances that the Knight Riders will let go off him. 

3. Sunil Narine

From an individual with great potentials especially in the T20 format to being a legend of the game, Sunil Narine has had a dramatic journey with the Knight Riders. Every time the critics have written him off as a player, the KKR management has brought out something new from him. The Knights have backed him even during his poorest of times and after what he has done in IPL 2024 with both the bat and the ball it is quite evident that they will be retaining the Trinidadian legend. 

These three players will probably the first three retentions of the KKR ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction. However, if the number is around five to six players, be sure that they will also retain Andre Russell.
