3 Indian Players To Watch Out For in The T20I Series Against West Indies


India will collide against West Indies in a multi-format, starting from July 12. Once the Tests and ODI series get over, the T20 leg of the tour will commence from August 3. 

The Indian selectors have taken some bold calls, which includes leaving out Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for the T20Is. However, they also have selected some exciting faces for the upcoming tour.

Let us look at the 3 players who can leave a big impact in the T20I series against the Windies.

TILAK VARMA

A 20-year-old who stole hearts and impressed the cricket pundits with his stellar performace for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has been a wave since then with his magnificent batting style and knack for scoring runs. The young cricketer have it all 'the technique' and 'the temperament'

 "Having such a calm head is never easy, and in my opinion, I feel he's going to be an all-format player for India pretty soon," this is what former India captain, Rohit Sharma said. 

In February 2022, Varma was bought by the Mumbai Indians in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament and in total he played 25 IPL matches and scored 740 runs in 25 Innings. With 84 runs as the highest score in IPL.

YASHASVI JASIWAL

The young talented player has earned a place in the T20I squad against West Indies. The 21-year-old opening batter has garnered attention during the IPL playing for Rajasthan Royals. He is one of the emerging player and have the ability to play both anchor and the aggressor as per the demands of the match.

Jaiswal had an impressive strike rate in his three IPL so far. In IPL 2023 , he had the most runs (625) and average (48.08) and fifty-plus scores (six) and fours (82) and sixes (26) for the Rajasthan Royals, and got their only hundred.

MUKESH KUMAR

The Bengal pacer, Kumar has been doing well and has been a brilliant performer for the Bengal in the domestic circuit. Mukesh Kumar has played 10 matches to date in his IPL career and has bowled some difficult overs for DC and finished with seven wickets in 10 games. 

The 29-year-old has claimed 26 List A wickets in 24 games and 149 victims in 39 first-class matches. However, Kumar performs well in the T20I series, there is a high chance that the youngster may get ahead in the pecking order, considering the lack of quality pacers in the circuit.
